Memorial Day Sunday's Bug-Out 75 wowed all
Even with a late arriving crowd, and beautiful sunny day, 242 VWs were signed-in to the car show.
First in Baja class, and Best of Show, were awarded to Grahm Shook and his super detailed street/off-roader from Stratford, Connecticut.
Super Pro final saw Nokesville, VA's Bruce Ridgeway take the win light withan .027 reaction time, 6.92 on 6.87 dial-in, to losing effort of Baltimore, MD's Austin Johnson III, who had RT of .013, and ran 7.30 on 7.10 dial-in.
From Jacksonville, FL came Gary Crull and his black/silver '61 21-Window, while his wife, Donna, brought her paint-matched '66 Double Cab. Both won first in class; D-Cab took Best Paint, 21-Window got Best Interior.
Final of Elite Pro Bracket pitted Danville, VA's David Young ('63 Bug) against Norfolk, VA's Charles Hargrove (2010 GTI). Young's RT of .027 plus 9.76 on 9.60 dial-in, won it! Charles ran 10.01 on 9.60 DI, with .333 RT.
Pro Stock racer, Tay Woykowski (Marshall, VA) had his Fastback dragcar in the paint shop, so he brought his outstanding Oval resto-custom '57, and went home with first in class and Best Display.
