One of the largest custom and classic car shows in all of San Diego county, the Vista Burger Run is one of the most popular. Today, January 11, there were no less than 650 cool cars show up, thanks to great warm weather (sorry east coast). Among the herd of Detroit Iron were more than a dozen early VWs on hand, making this show a real standout. The big winner for the day, was Mark Novello, as his two-tone red and white sedan won the Best Foreign car at the show. There was also an interesting winner of the Promoter's Choice award, given to a rather odd Bay Window bus (see photos). Great day in Vista, California.
Winner of the Promoter's Choice award, went to his fun look at our health care program. Bay Window bus was entered by "Joe Biden"....
Yes, this bus was equipped with all the necessary health care support devices.
The red and white sedan belonged to Mark Novello, and won the Best Foreign car award for the day. Congrats to Mark!
The promoter's wife built some great trophies for the show, including this patina Karmann Ghia for the Best Foreign award.
Slammed Ghia coupe complete with overloaded roof rack!
Shawn Profit's really fast Manx buggy, complete with turbo and nitrous.... Street legal too.
No shortage of sandrails in San Deigo county!
Another Profit family street screamer!
Willie's stealth Oval complete with Porsche 356 B brakes all the way around.

REVIVED ROMETSCH
The July 2015 "Vintage Special" issue of Hot VWs magazine takes a close look at a very rare 1956 Rometsch Beeskow convertible, which Dave "Pip" Pipoly and Mike Davis painstakingly brought back to life at their "Compound' in southern California.
