One of the all-time best surf movies ever made is Big Wednesday (1978). And although the story is mostly about growing up with surfing during the '70s, it does feature a few classic VWs. With that in mind, another Big Wednesday was created a number of years back, to celebrate summer, surfing and of course, old Volkswagens. So, for the past few years, the second Wednesday in August has been set aside for a day at San Onofre Beach, in southern California. And today, dozens have called in sick at work, and are enjoying the day with their buddies.
